Get ready for a spooktacular theatrical adventure as “The Little Shop of Horrors” takes the stage in Singapore from April 12 to 28, 2024, at the SOTA Drama Theatre. With music by Alan Menken and book by Howard Ashman, the masterminds behind Disney’s iconic productions like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin, this production promises a captivating blend of humor, horror, and toe-tapping tunes.
Directed by the fabulous TJ Taylor and musically orchestrated by Elaine Chan, the show features a stellar cast, including Andrew Marko as Seymour, Vanessa Kee as Audrey, Dwayne Lau, Benjamin Koh, Tony Tong, Andrea Joy, Marissa Vojodi, and Nurulhuda Hassan. Brace yourselves for a diabolically delicious musical that has been sinking its teeth into the hearts of theatre enthusiasts for over 30 years!
Based on the cult classic film, “Little Shop of Horrors” follows the story of Seymour, a down-and-out floral assistant who discovers a peculiar plant with an insatiable appetite for blood. As the plant’s hunger grows, so does Seymour’s dilemma in this darkly comedic and thrilling tale. Seymour names the plant “Audrey II” after his coworker crush, and as the plant makes a deal with Seymour for fame and fortune, chaos ensues, leading to a web of out-of-this-world origins and global domination schemes.
Accompanied by a fiery 5-piece band, the musical features hits like “Somewhere That’s Green,” “Feed Me,” and “Suddenly Seymour.” Join the audience at the SOTA Drama Theatre for a hysterically hilarious, family-friendly spectacle.
