Macao Sam Yuk Middle School (MSY) is one of the oldest schools in Macau, founded in 1953. It's also a Christian school and, as a member of the worldwide SDA education system, follows a Christ-centered philosophy of education. They have a kindergarten, a primary school, and a secondary school. They offer a traditional curriculum and focus on all key subjects, and lessons are taught in Chinese Mandarin and English from Kindergarten onwards.
MSY began its journey in 1953 at Rua de Sanches Do Miranda, originally as a kindergarten and primary school. Over the years, it gradually transformed into a middle school. However, after experiencing a staff shortage, the school had to close its doors for 19 long years in 1967. In 1992, MSY made a comeback, resuming its mission to provide traditional grammar education. By 1997, the school moved to its current spacious campus near the Taipa Sports Complex, which spans 12,902 square meters of land reclaimed by the Macao government.
Today, the English section of MSY caters to students from kindergarten through secondary levels, offering diplomas and certificates in both traditional grammar subjects and vocational courses. It’s a place where learning truly thrives!
