Planning a day out every weekend with your kiddos can be quite a hassle and not to mention costly, in our little garden city. Thankfully, Little Steps has compiled a list of the top free and oh so fabulous activities for the whole gang without you even feeling the slightest pinch! Are you ready? Here we go…here are the top 10 free things to do in Singapore with kids.
Escape the hustle and bustle of city life and head out to the countryside with the kids! Explore places like Hay Dairies, where you get to watch goats being milked or visit Qian Hu Fish Farm and Bollywood Veggies where your kiddos get to roam around one of the few actual fish and vegetable farms in Singapore. Visit the Farmpreneurs website for individual farm addresses and contact information.

Every Saturday, selected fire stations open up for tours where you and your whole gang get to explore a fire truck, try out equipment such as spraying special water jets, and learn how firemen slide down the fire pole (apparently there’s a technique?!). If you have less than 10 people in your party, walk-ins are welcome. For those who have 10 or above members, click here to book online.

The water-play area at the Children’s Garden is a must-see, must-do activity for a fun-filled day out with your bubs. The interactive play delights at the toddler play zone and sensory water play features at the centerpiece are an instant hit with the kids. For the 6 to 12 year old's, a jungle adventure awaits at the two rainforest tree houses! The Children’s Garden Café is also perfect for grabbing a snack for the kiddos in-between play.

Ignite the ‘kampong’ spirit in your kids as you spend half a day at The Animal Resort, where chickens and geese roam free. Experience close encounters with a cassowary and marabou stork. For the brave young souls, you can even purchase some food to feed the animals. What a treat!

Bring your own set of wheels or rent bicycles from nearby Punggol Point Park and explore the rich flora and fauna that the little island has to offer. During June, November and December, there are also guided walks conducted where you can learn about the history of the park and its diverse biodiversity. Pack a picnic basket and you're all set!

With an outdoor playground located in pretty much every single neighborhood in Singapore, you'll never be short of a place for some adventure with the kids. Plan a day out with ample snacks, drinks, and lots of sunblock and start exploring. Head to the East Coast to the Marine Cove playground featuring spider mazes, slides, and swings. Venture to West Coast Park thereafter and hop from one playground to another. If the kiddies are up for it, challenge them to the 26 slides, some of which are pitched atop hilly terrain, at Admiralty Park!
