The main highlight was the ‘dunk tank’. Fearless pupils volunteered to sit atop the precarious platform, awaiting their fate. With each accurate throw of the ball, the platform plunged the volunteer into the cool water, eliciting laughter and cheers from the crowd. The dunk tank provided endless entertainment as everyone worked together to dip the volunteers into the tank!
The inflatable bouncy castles were the popular with everyone, as children patiently took their turn on and bounced down the slides. Other ‘classics’ were also available for parent-child team-work, as they worked together to complete the ring toss, coin toss and target challenges. There was also the adrenaline-rush-inducing rodeo bull!
The aroma of delicious food wafted through the carnival grounds, as parents and children alike queued-up for grilled sliders and hot dogs – ‘must haves’ for any carnival! Refreshing ice-creams were also available after a busy afternoon.
The Brighton Society carnival was an immense success, bringing together the school community for a day of thrills and delight. The afternoon also gave us the chance to wish our parents and children a well-deserved summer holiday, and created wonderful memories.
