The shop was initially known as Abu Nawas Barber Shop and was started by Mr Abdul Latiff Mohammad Fahmi in Paya Lebar in the early 1960s. Neighborhood kids painted a huge Bugs Bunny on the exterior walls and since then, the name stuck to the shop all the way to its move to its present premise.
