Mid Autumn Festival In Singapore
Chinatown Festivities!

Head on down to Chinatown to commemorate Singapore Bicentennial and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival at the same time! This year, due to Covid-19 situation and measures that have been implemented, the scale of Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinatown has been greatly reduced. The Chinatown Festival Organizing Committee hopes to continue the tradition and celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinatown through dazzling streets light and to bring festive cheers to everyone.

Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival 2020 Opening Ceremony

Date: September 17, 2020

Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival 2020 goes virtual! For the first time, the opening ceremony for this annual mega community event will take place virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic and it will be live stream over Facebook.

Street Light-Up

Date: September 17 - October 16, 2020

Be enchanted by 700 sculptured lanterns along the streets of Chinatown. The lanterns display will depict traditional Chinese motifs and characters such as Chang’e, Goddess of the Moon in Chinese mythology, it will also illustrate this year’s theme – “family”, as a core element in getting Singaporean unite together as one big family to overcome the challenges ahead and emerge stronger.

MAF 2020 Short Video Series

Date: September 15, 24 & 27, 2020

Enjoy three specially produced short video on the relationship of Mid-Autumn Festival and mooncake making, tea and pomelo appreciation. Get to discover the meaning and stories behind these traditional activities.

Online Escape Room: MAF2020 Edition

Date: September 19, 2020

Join in the Online Escape Room with a customized Mid-Autumn Festival storyline. Each teams of 5 shall compete to solve puzzles and crack the code in each story together. Pump up your adrenaline level and take up the challenge! Not to be missed!
