Holiday Woodworking Workshops
DIY Sessions To Develop Basic Carpentry Skills

Is your child seeking to further expand their skill set in the realm of woodworking and discover new techniques to create meaningful project pieces? Or would you like your child to learn the fine art of making things with their hands? Ground-Up Initiative, a non-profit organization in Singapore, introduced the latest addition to their line-up of child-friendly woodworking programmes for 2020!

There is something really special about woodwork. The smell and feel of wood, using real tools, working with a natural material, the sounds of hammering and sawing, hands and minds working together to express imagination and to solve problems, the use of strength and coordination: all combine to captivate young children’s interest. This December, cultivate a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) attitude in the kiddies by cultivating the basic skill of building and fixing things. Kids are also encouraged to learn from mistakes by finding solutions. Skills and technicality can be developed with practice.

This programme focuses on experiential learning through the process of:

- Conceptualizing a working project
- Material selection and management
- Preparation and dimensioning
- Assembly via machine and hand tools under professional guidance.

Suitable for kids aged 8 and above.

Fee: SG$360 per child. Click here to register

Woodcraft workshops for some family-bonding time and also to cultivate a DIY attitude!

December 2-4, 2020.
