Dale Chihuly: Glass in Bloom marks the artist’s first major garden exhibition in Asia. Featuring iconic large-scale installations situated within Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, this exhibition is organized in collaboration with Hustle & Bustle. This Seattle-based iconic glass artist will present locals with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience an extensive collection of the artist’s pieces, the showcase will include large-scale installations, sculptures, and even two-dimensional works.
This ethereal exhibition features 25 of the artist’s large-scale installations, as well as more than 80 pedestal sculptures and two-dimensional works.
Shipped directly from Seattle, the large-scale works measure up to 10m in height and weigh as much as 3,600 kg. Among the works on show are Setting Sun, And Moon, which was last presented in the landmark exhibition Chihuly In The Light Of Jerusalem 2000; Ethereal White Persians and Cloud Forest Persians, which debuted in 2019 at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London.
For your information, Dale Chihuly’s work is included in more than 200 museum collections worldwide. He has been the recipient of many awards, including two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and thirteen honorary doctorates, and has also co-founded Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State. With this international glass center, Chihuly has led the avant-garde in the development of glass as fine art.
