The Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) is Singapore’s national museum of Asian antiquities and decorative art. As the only museum in Asia with a pan-Asian scope, ACM is devoted to exploring the rich artistic heritage of Asia through our outstanding collection of masterpieces, and through ground-breaking special exhibitions. Special exhibitions and programs are held to bring magnificent objects from around the world closer to the Singapore audience. Here’s a roundup of happenings at ACM this July and August.
#SGFASHIONNOW
When: Now till December 19, 2021
Where: Asian Civilisations Museum
#SGFASHIONNOW is ACM’s first display of contemporary Singapore fashion, exploring creative practice in Singapore in the context of Asia’s cultural heritage. Through this collaboration with LASALLE School of Fashion, ACM hopes to encourage new ways of addressing the question – “What is Singapore fashion?” – from the perspective of our essence as an open, global, multicultural port city.
ACM Adventures: Hats Off to You!
When: July 25, 2021 from 1pm-5pm

This month, journey with ACM and discover the world of scholarly pursuits. Catch a drama performance and a storytelling video, then get crafty and make your own scholar’s hat.
Food Talks
When: August 4, 2021, at 8pm
Where: Online, ACM Facebook
Learn about the history and food culture of Edo-period Japan in these informative videos featuring Chef Tomoo Kimura from Sushi Kimura and Chef Yoshi of Yoshi Restaurant with ACM’s very own director, Kennie Ting.
Tanabata Celebrations
When: August 14, 2021
