STEAM at Canadian International School (CIS) stands for science, technology, entrepreneurship, arts, and maths. It is an interdisciplinary approach that encourages students to think about the connections between these 5 disciplines through creative thinking, problem-solving, iteration and inquiry.

STEAM plays an integral part of CIS’s curriculum and is integrated across the entire school from pre-kindergarten right the way through to Grade 12. Their approach is student-led and hands-on. They focus on activities where students have the opportunity to make connections and solve real-life, authentic problems. This not only helps students to think critically and approach problems from multiple perspectives but also keeps them motivated and excited to learn more.

From Grade 1 onwards, students are exposed to STEAM experiences in stimulating makerspaces. These are special areas filled with state-of-the-art equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters, all designed to motivate students to experiment, build and invent!

A STEAM education at CIS has something to offer every student regardless of where their interests or passions lie. To learn more about the program, contact their Admissions Team here or call +65 6734 8088.
