After a decade of preparation and construction, Macao finally got its first rapid transit system as the Macao LRT opens!

Macao Light Rapid Transit (LTR) currently connects Macao's hotspots within Taipa. The 9.3 kilometers, i.e., 5.8 miles, of the route run through Macao's central residential area, old town, and popular tourist destinations, providing an economical and convenient option to both locals and tourists! The LRT line will eventually be expanded beyond the 11-station Taipa route onto the Macao peninsula to increase the flexibility of movement in this vibrant region further!

Trains run every 5-10 minutes from 6:30am to 11:35pm from Monday to Thursday, and from 6:30am to 12:19pm on other days and holidays. The fees are calculated depending on the number of stops, MOP6 for 3 stops, MOP8 for 6 stops, and MOP10 for 10 stops, with reduced prices for children, students, and the elderly. However, the free ride offer that was supposed to last until the end of the year has been extended to 31 January 2020!
