Q-dees Mid-Autumn Festival Potluck Party
Make LED Lanterns!

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a popular observance in Malaysia amongst those of ethnic Chinese heritage. It is the second grandest festival in China after the Chinese New Year and falls on the 15th day of the 8th month according to the Chinese lunar calendar. It takes its name from the fact that it is always celebrated in the middle of the autumn season. Moon cakes are the food of choice on this occasion. These cakes are filled with sweet-tasting bean paste or with lotus seeds or another filling. Originally, the Festival was closely connected with making offerings to the moon god to get a bountiful harvest. Today, most are not moon worshipers, but the cake is still shaped like a moon for that reason. Also, mooncakes symbolize family reunion. In Chinese culture, roundness symbolizes completeness and togetherness. A full moon symbolizes prosperity and reunion for the whole family.

This year, Q-dees is organizing a Reunion Potluck Party in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival. Enjoy the fullness of life and the brightness of blessings with your friends and family during this ancient festival. Make LED Lanterns with the little ones, guess some riddles, enjoy lion dance and feast on scrumptious food! Please bring Halal food only to share.

Enjoy a Reunion Potluck Party in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival organized by Q-dees.
