Five percent of the Hong Kong population comprises domestic helpers and most of them are women. Currently, Pathfinders is assisting 148 migrant moms who are facing a crisis. They’re vulnerable and helpless as a parent without proper support and care. The pandemic has heightened the challenges due to many reasons, including travel restrictions, social distance measures and regular suspension on government services. Shelters are bursting with desperate helpers looking for assistance.
