Hot off the press! The adaptation of the beloved Disney cult classic The Little Mermaid 2023 opens today at cinemas across Hong Kong! The new movie, directed by Rob Marshall, tells the tale of the beautiful and spirited young mermaid Ariel, played by Halle Bailey, as she longs to explore the world beyond the ocean. Although strictly forbidden to do so by her protective father King Triton (Javier Bardem), Ariel defies him and visits the surface anyway and falls for the dashing Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King). Follow Ariel as she navigates this forbidden world with her trusty friends, Flounder (Jacob Tremblay), Scuttle (Awkwafina), and Sebastian (Daveed Diggs), and runs into the evil Ursula, played by the ultra-talented Melissa McCarthy.
And yes, if you are wondering, the music and songs remain the same, but remastered of course! So you will be able to sing your hearts out to Under The Sea, Kiss The Girl, Part Of Your World, and all your favorites. We’ve been listening to the official playlist all morning in anticipation!
