Aviation Exhibition At Hong Kong Science Museum
Above And Beyond Exhibition

Little aviation fans will love this new exhibition at Hong Kong Science Museum!  The "Above and Beyond" special exhibition is sponsored by Boeing and offers hands-on learning opportunities for kids interested in aviation and aerospace.  From the first powered flights to the newest innovations on Earth and in space, your family will love this immersive experience.

The Fun Bits:

*   The exhibition makes use of flight simulation, immersive theatre, touch-table displays and augmented reality to exhibit technology and scientific concepts behind flight.

*  A group flying experience with motion-sensing image capture helps you sense what it is like to fly like a bird in a flock while exploring the forces of flight.

*  Admire the breathtaking natural phenomena by taking the space elevator up to the Earth's orbit and learn about different aircraft and spacecraft.

* Always wondered what challenges your body and mind go through during an ultra-long-haul flight to Mars? Take a 'Marathon to Mars' to experience it firsthand!

*  Complete a challenging mission with a robot designed by you; or eliminate 'Space Junk' using cutting-edge solutions.

*  You can ride to the edge of space in a simulated space elevator or test your supersonic fighter-jet design in a virtual high-speed flying competition.

Besides this impressive exhibition, there are extended and educational activities. You can go on the 'On-spot Guided Tour,' conducted in Cantonese and Mandarin. Don't forget to download your educational resources for the 'Teacher's preview.

Two films will also be shown in the Lecture Hall three times a week called 'Life in the Air: Masters of the Sky' and 'Life in the Air: Crowded Skies'. They are both in English with Cantonese subtitles. Admission is free on a first come, first served basis. Click here for further details.

Try the Science Day Camps on June, 30, August,1 and August 3 where you will learn about 'Science and Technology in Everyday Life'. Prefer learning about this topic as a family? On August 25, there are two one-hour Family Workshops with the same title, one at 2 pm and one 4 pm. Both the camps and workshops will be conducted in Cantonese.

Explore and create through science, engineering, and technology.  Prepare to be inspired by the world of space and aviation at this new exhibition at the Hong Kong Science Museum.
