Voilah! French Festival Singapore
French Film Festival Returns

Head on down to the Botanic Gardens for an evening of culture and food at the opening weekend of Voilah! French Festival, organised by the French Embassy. Voilah! is more than a showcase of French culture and innovation in Singapore, it is a true collaboration bringing together two countries to create a truly unique festival. To strengthen the ties between French and Singaporean communities, the Festival will present over 50 programmes in the domains of culture, education, science, lifestyle, tourism and sports. Throughout the festival, Francophiles can expect to immerse themselves in French food culture and enjoy various French dishes from escargots to foie gras to boeuf bourguignon will also make appearances at several participating restaurants like Brasserie Gavroche.

As part of Voilah! France Singapore Festival, the longest running foreign film festival in Singapore, French Film Festival is returning from November 4-17, 2019 and this year's edition will showcase an exciting lineup of 27 latest films and classics. The festival in Singapore explores matters close to heart and delves into topics that expose the vulnerabilities that make us human. From first love to love lost, personal identity to conforming to societal expectations, growing up pains to mid-life crises, the festival promises an emotional introspection for its attendees. Opening the festival this year is Made in China, the coming-of-age French comedy that examines one’s identity in the world we live in today. Masterfully filmed by French auteur Julien Abraham, it follows the story of François, a young French-Chinese photographer who has to reconnect with his family 10 years after falling out with his father.

For a complete cultural appreciation, the event will be opened by internationally celebrated master conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy, French cellist Gautier Capuçon, and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Plus, be sure to keep an eye on Echoa by Arcosm too!

Voilah! French Festival Singapore returns with a full cultural appreciation including the French Film Festival and lots of gourmet treats!
