Global Indian International School (GIIS) has announced plans to open the most technologically advanced SMART campus in Singapore - possibly in all of Asia - combining cutting-edge teaching with state-of-the-art amenities. The new SMART campus will be located in the Singapore Government’s Punggol Digital District.

When Phase 1 of the new SMART campus opens it aims to accommodate 3,500 students in the 33,000 square metre, seven-storey school. With 130 classrooms powered by ‘virtual classroom’ e-learning technology, interactive TV display panels, tablets and projectors, students will enjoy a virtual learning approach that not only gives them access to a wide network of specialist teachers and industry leaders but also the opportunity to collaborate with GIIS students in other campuses across seven countries.

In keeping with its SMART theme, GIIS has also established three centres of research excellence focused on entrepreneurship and innovation, robotics and artificial intelligence, and design technology. The campus will also feature 40GB fibre broadband connectivity, sports data analytics and smart safety features. To ensure that students are also aware of the environment, the entire campus is supported by green initiatives and will establish an Environment Labs to bring students closer to nature.
